LATEST UPDATE - 7th JULY 2020 - from the manager

The club remains CLOSED for now but work is ramping up towards our eventual return. If only we knew when! but we await further government announcements.

Our staff and Member's safety will be paramount when we return.
With enormous thanks to Secretary Sue Johnston, I can report that since my last update we have almost completed our 'Back to Bowls policy' which ensures the club will be Covid-19 compliant and includes:

All Key references
A club Covid-19 Status System with sliding scale Alert levels
A Covid Risk assessment
A Hygiene & Cleaning Plan
Bar & Restaurant Checklist
Plans for a safe return of the Grand Prix
A Communications Plan
Plans for a revised layout & one way entry/exit system
'New Normal' playing guide and other details to enable Members to return safely.

We also plan to be Track and Trace compliant which will mean that members must leave details of their mobile telephone numbers and we have an obligation to log who attended and who played with who, in case we are contacted by the government track and trace team - more work in progress.

Without going into fine detail now (and rest assured we will write to or email all of our members with firmer details when we get a hint as to our likely return date) it is likely that our numbers will be limited per session and all sessions will need to be pre-booked over the telephone or via email.

We plan to play on 6 rinks (1,4,5,8 and the middle of 2/3 6/7) and stagger start times and we'll start with singles & pairs play only with a 4m T and respots. We've cleared enough space in the walkways to enable safe social distancing and we're going to train our staff prior to reopening in the finer points of the new normal.

Still the donations keep pouring in and the support of the Club by it's members has been nothing short of astounding!!

To date the donations (from 59 people) total £8284.60 - including TWO donations of £1000, TWO of £500, one each of £300, £250, £220 and THREE of £200! There have been a further TWENTY-FIVE donations at or in excess of £100!

Whatever the amount, each and every donation is cherished and appreciated and THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone who has contributed.

As a CASC registered club we are also requesting permission to use donor's addresses as Gift Aid ID if they are tax payers which could potentially add 25p for each £1 donated

We are also grateful to those who continue to support us through subscribing to the Lincoln City Lottery (link in Left Hand Menu).

We'll see you all again soon I hope but until then please stay safe everyone.

LIBC Essential Planned Maintenance Works
   - by Danny Brown

At their virtual Board Meeting held this evening, the Board of Directors agreed that we should take advantage of the fact that the club is closed to go ahead with some essential maintenance work which was identified as being required before the lockdown began.

Essential electrical wiring and lighting work is required to ensure the safety of the premises and to validate our insurance cover and will go ahead with work planned to commence on 6th July 2020.

The large lime tree at the front of the premises is periodically checked as part of our insurance requirements and has become deseased. ....... ....... .......

Planning for Restart
   - by Sue Johnston

Here behind the scenes at LIBC we are still working hard to make sure as soon as we are allowed to offer indoor bowling we do it in the safest ways possible.

Obviously there will be standards we are told to meet but we are also setting out some procedures in addition to structural changes to make it easier. Training and appropriate protection will be available for our staff. You may not know but our regularly serviced air conditioning exchange system is designed to bring fresh air in to the building at regular intervals rather than simply recirculating the existing internal air. There will ....... ....... .......
