 WHAT'S NEW FOR 2020? - from the manager

Annual Subscriptions are now OVERDUE. We now have card payment facilities available (minimum spend £10)for member's convenience. When paying their membership, we're handing every member a little card with details of how they can support our Lincoln Community Lottery page and sign up for a weekly chance to win up to £25,000. If you're nervous about signing up over the internet, there's a telephone Help desk facility where supporters can join over the telephone. Just call 01522 253888 and be sure to name LIBC as your chosen cause. You can join for just £1 a week and every single ticket is important to us.

Fri 31st January 2020 is BURNS NIGHT - A celebration of the influencial Scottish poet Rabbie Burns which includes a 5 course meal in the Restaurant and plenty of poetry, fun and laughter between courses!
Tickets are £25 each and are now on sale at the bar. Please purchase yours by 10th Jan to avoid disappointment.

Wed & Sun Coaching will return on 18th January 2020 at 4.30pm both days.


This Thursday 23rd January 2020 the Club will host a match featuring Lincoln City Legends v Lincoln IBC The legends will feature names such as Dennis Leigh, Terry Cooper, Phil Hubbard, Paul Miller, Matt Carmichael, John Kennedy, Gavin Gordon, Trevor Swinburne, and the ace in their pack could be Lincoln's current World Champion boxer Nathan Decastro! Lincoln IBC players will be Alan Buxton; Janet Crabb; Michael D'Agostino; Richard Hall; Andy Herring; Yvonne Kirk; Paul Morris; Patrick O'Reilly; Dave Phillips; Keith Richardson; Eddie Smith; Neil Starbuck; Mike Stray; Pete Trafford; George Wilson; John Withers Ask Danny for details of how to take part, or come along and watch - 'Kick Off' is 7pm.

A much better result today winning by 16 Points to 2 at home v Sleaford.

Roy Horne, Geoff Maslin, Jim Collett & David Hipworth Won 34 - 12
David's rink picked up a 7 count on the first end and led by 8 shots at 5 ends. Pulling further away over the next 5 ends to lead by 11 shots at 10 ends. They doubled their score over the next 4 ends and despite dropping 1 shot on end 15 the lead was now 23 shots. Sleaford pulled back a little over the final ends to leave the final sco ....... ....... .......

 Coach's Corner:
Strange old game.

Those of you that have played since last Thurday will have noticed that the carpets are running much faster and the ' heads' are looking like an illustration from the hymn , We plough the fields and scatter the good seed on the land. Why?
If the carpet wasn't stretched and maintained on a regular basis it would soon show signs of wear and play unevenly. The act of stretching it changes the way a bowl runs on it because the friction generated between bowl and carpet is changed. This is called The coefficient of friction, and it has to be measured , and a formula created which conforms to the ....... ....... .......

Lincoln v Harrogate

A little shuffle of the pack for the captain for this quarter final with Penny on holiday to play a team we don't very often come across in competitions so was good to see fresh opposition.
Our ladies were up for this one after 5 ends 25 shots up, what a great start.
A little rally round in the Harrogate camp saw them reduce the difference to 19 shots at 10 ends.
But at 15 ends the lead was extended in Lincoln's favour to 29 shots.
The ladies continued to dominate both home and away at 18 ends the lead was ....... ....... .......

A little shuffling due to players on holidays for the captain to make before this team was finalised.
He couldn't have asked for a better start 4 shot up after 5 ends 2 rinks up and 2 down any body's game.
At 10 ends 9 shots up still 2 rinks up and 2 down.
14 shots up at 15 ends but looking more like it with 3 rinks up.
Extended to 17 shots at 18 ends all looking at the score board and playing the big board instead of own rinks a victory looked on the cards.
21 ends completed on 3 r ....... ....... .......

Won by 76 shots to 70

A nail-biting game, after 15 ends Lincoln were 10 shots down.
After the home rinks had finished the game was 4 shots in Lincoln's favour.
The away rinks with 2 ends each to play saw York take 1 shot on each rink.
Pam Burke's rink scored 1 on the final end and Jo Hornsby 3 shots to win the tie for Lincoln

Slight change to the team for this tough test Tony Gilroy replacing Richard Ashton in the rinks

Penny Strong first to finish in the LADIES SINGLES after a slow start winning by 21 shots to 11 against Chelsea Tomlin putting the first points on the board.
Lincoln 2 – 0 Spalding

George Draper v Steven Harris in the MEN'S SINGLES saw the game take a similar pattern to the ladies but the other way around George getting of to a good start with Steven pegging him back to win 21-16
2 points to Spalding
